Nieuwe Instituut is het nationale museum voor architectuur, design en digitale cultuur. Nieuwe Instituut houdt zich bezig met de grote ontwikkelingen in de maatschappij, zoals de krapte op de woningmarkt, de energietransitie, de opkomst van kunstmatige intelligentie, mobiliteit of het gebruik van de publieke ruimte. Ontwerpers, waaronder architecten en digitale makers, kunnen aan die ontwikkelingen een belangrijke bijdrage leveren. Nieuwe Instituut toont het werk van ontwerpers, brengt mensen met elkaar in contact, verzamelt, ontwikkelt en deelt kennis.

Butler</em></p><p>Nieuwe Instituut and curators Ramon Amaro and Ben Earl are thrilled to extend an invitation from another dimension – an opportunity to join the crew at <a href="https://nieuweinstituut.nl/en/projects/minus-one" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">-1</a>, the new hub for digital culture at Nieuwe Instituut.</p><h3>Why You Should Join Us</h3><p>-1 is a dynamic new gallery at Nieuwe Instituut that is part laboratory, part exhibition space, where local and international digital makers develop and share work on critical issues in digital culture. As we prepare to venture beyond the digital, we are assembling a diverse and dynamic crew, and we believe you are the missing piece to our cosmic puzzle. Where do you want to go today?</p><h3>Event Details</h3><ul><li>Mission: Launch of -1</li><li>Date of Departure: 7th October, 2023</li><li>Time of Departure: 17.00 - 21.00</li><li>Spaceport: Nieuwe Instituut, Gallery -1</li></ul><h3>What Awaits You</h3><p><strong>A Portal to the Imagination</strong>: After the toast, you’ll be granted entry into -1, where you can explore the impact of technological change on people, culture, society and planet, as well as create new narratives for computing elsewhere and otherwise.</p><p><strong>Knowledge Questing</strong>: Unlock access to exciting research in digital culture. On display are works-in-process by our inaugural class of -1 artists-in-residence: Sondi, Philipp Groubnov, Victoria McKenzie, and Karim Fouad.</p><p><strong>Squadron Solidarity</strong>: Join our “squad” and form lifelong bonds with fellow crew members as we navigate the mysteries of digital culture. Our mission is not just about art and technology; we embrace the entanglement of people, places, and ideas that nurture critical conversations about our current technological climate.</p><h3>Dress Code</h3><p>Casual space and science fiction attire is not required but feel free to embrace your inner cosmic or digital explorer if you so desire!</p><h3>Special Note</h3><p>Please be aware that this journey will last several years, during which we&#x27;ll encounter the unknown and face challenges that will test our mettle. However, the rewards of discovery, the bonds forged, and the knowledge gained will be immeasurable.
