Synopsis. Life Is A Cultural Thread (2022) is a 25 minute documentary production that made its first appereance as part of Dutch Design Week ‘22. The story is a first-person’s approach to textile manufacturing with artists in their natural surroundings, designers, weavers, entrepreneurs, and activists of different generations and corners in the world on the current sociocultural phenomena.
The result is a tapestry of short stories in a collision of cultural tradition and innovation. From cashmere goats to textile dyes, the audience learns in this intergenerational story, how each one of the artists contribute like a thread, to our world’s intercultural tapestry of creative professional women.
Life Is A Cultural Thread (2022) highlights the growing awareness on sustainable textile design and underrepresented women in art history.
