The session will be split into two parts, with each section having a different focus. It is recommended that participants attend the entire masterclass to get all your questions answered. Here’s what you’ll learn about.
----
Part #1
From Trademarks, Copyrights & Licences to Privacy, NDAs and Employment Law
TeekensKarstens (Alexander van Lunteren & Maaike Koot)
Get insights about how to protect and advance your business in this session. There will be an overview covering, among others, copyright and design rights – essential tools for safeguarding the intangible assets that drive innovation and competitiveness in technology sectors. Copyright secures original works such as software, technical documentation and creative content. Design rights protect the unique appearance of your products, which can be a key differentiator in high-tech industries.
Privacy compliance will also be covered. Understanding the legal frameworks around personal data – think the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) – is crucial for compliance, risk management and strategic growth. By adhering to the GDPR, your business can foster innovation, protect valuable assets, and build trust with partners and customers in an evolving technological landscape.
Understanding employment law is also essential for startups, as it governs the relationship between employers and employees. Find out what should be in employment contracts, such as how to implement non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) to protect sensitive information or non-compete clauses to prevent employees from working with competitors after leaving the company. Any additional employment law questions that may arise during the event will be addressed.
Key topics:
- Copyright and design rights
- Privacy compliance
- Practical employment tools

Part #2
Tax Incentives In Focus: Complete Guide to the 30% Ruling
Wecountancy (Kavita Sewkaransing)
The 30% ruling is a very attractive tax incentive for employees in the Netherlands who were recruited to relocate for work to a Dutch company. In this session, we will look at the consequences of this benefit from both the employer and employee perspectives.
To qualify, the employer and employee must demonstrate to the tax office that the employee meets the so-called salary-and-distance test. Sometimes employees think that they do not qualify, for example because they have already been working for some time in the Netherlands or because they were attending a Dutch university prior to accepting a job in the Netherlands. Perhaps your situation, or the status of incoming employees whom you offer employment, gives reason to check whether a successful application for the 30% ruling can be submitted.
Join the masterclass and your individual questions will be answered! It is possible to share questions prior to the meeting with us, these will be forwarded to the speakers to anticipate on good tailor-made advice during the session.
Key topics:
- Conditions of the 30% ruling
- Benefit for the employer/employee
- Practical examples
Secure your spot now and get to grips with all your company’s and employees’ legal compliance tools and tax-related requirements.
