Meditative carnatic singing is a tradition from Karnataka (South India) where, accompanied by the sound of a tanpura (traditional string instrument), women during labour process vocalized sounds in a rhythmic and repetitive motion. It has been proved that this kind of vocalizations allows human body to grow awareness over breathing and relaxes abdominal area, diafragm, perineum and throat, amongst many other profits, as it is pain and anxiety relief, for example.

No vocal, musical or perfomatic experience is required. Everybody is able to sing intuitively.

The aim of this workshop is to explore our own fundamental pitch, feeling comfortable with our breathing and vocal projection, and to find a valuable tool to help us re-connect to ourselves.
