About this event

Micro-fossils: A story of Land, Time and Sea is a collaborative project that explores the connection between ancient microorganisms and modern plastic pollution. It is a circular performance. Millions of years ago, bacteria, plankton, and algae fossilized forming what became fossil fuels — the source of plastic production today. While plastic is deeply embedded in modern life, its environmental consequences, particularly microplastic pollution, seriously threaten ocean health. But bacteria, algae and fungi have evolved to "eat" plastic and can be a source to help us get inspired to do the same. By weaving scientific data with artistic storytelling, the performance seeks to transform environmental desperation into hope, fostering a call to action to give back to what nature gives us and help heal the environment.
