Jan De Block (1964) performs a minimalist piano on a bed of abstract noise. Since he started Silent Noise Revolution in 2015, he has appeared in Nils Frahm&#x27;s Piano Day playlist every year. 

During Modulab I am guided by a modular with mainly self-built and self-designed modules. 
I am also looking forward to improvising together with Jos Smolders. We may first have to walk together through a layer of dense and thorny undergrowth and then find beauty for a few minutes. That&#x27;s what I hope for: moments of beauty where you like to take the scratches and prickles.&quot;

Jos Smolders (1960) has been working on a repertoire of electronic and electro-acoustic music since 1980. He processes sound as an independent phenomenon and as a source of association and the continuous interaction between the two in a narrative structure. 

The listener travels between abstract and concrete. He was once part of the legendary group THU20, and has a rich history of releases to his name. 

September 22, Jos was part of Modulab IN FOCUS 1 on a Hordijk system, what the set up will be this evening is still a surprise.
