Meet your host
MC Kendra Borgen (US/NL) was born into a Reagan-era hunter-gatherer society in Alaska, Kendra started playing saxophone at age 8 inspired by the musical stylings of Lisa Simpson. After surviving the treacherous journey down the infamous Alaskan-Canadian hi-way she studied Music at the University of Oregon finally leaving the US in 2004 in search of a better life (and an affordable Master’s degree). She bought a one-way ticket to Amsterdam, never looked back and has been entertaining folks in Amsterdam ever since. Come listen to Kendra’s journey from the hilariously rugged outback of Alaska to the chaos of Amsterdam’s canals.

She was a founding NY Neofuturist, writing, directing and performing original plays at the local downtown theatre for 9 years, and her critically-acclaimed solo shows, such as '52 Man Pickup', 'Tar Baby' and 'Unf*ckable' were informed by her performance persona/style onstage with this theatre troop.

'Tar Baby' received a Fringe First Award for new writing at the Edinburgh Fringe, and the Scotsman called it “One of the most breathtaking monologues you’ll see this entire month”.

Desiree recorded her critically acclaimed, debut Edinburgh festival show, ‘This Is Evolution” as a TV special for, ‘Live From The BBC ‘(BBC3) and has recorded a 2nd stand up special for Comedy Central. Her Edinburgh show, ‘Unfuckable’ was a sold out hit at The Edinburgh Fringe and went onto two fantastic, sold out runs at The Soho Theatre.
