About MONO JAPAN FairMore than 70 Japanese participants have exhibited since the first MONO JAPAN Fair in 2016, taken place at the Lloyd Hotel Amsterdam. Most of these Japanese exhibitors were introduced for the first time in Europe. Numerous collaborations between Japan and the Netherlands have been born.

The workshop is valid in combination with the MONO JAPAN 2022 <a href="https://www.eventbrite.nl/e/mono-japan-2022-tickets-382946783137" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Entrance Ticket</a>.Mud dyeing, a natural dyeing technique passed down in Amami Oshima since ancient times, dyes colours through a chemical reaction between the dye extracted from the Yeddo Hawthorn native to the Amami Island and iron-rich mud. Dye your own natural materials (textile cloth, paper, wood, leather, etc.) with the colours of Amami Oshima.What to prepare and other notes:<ul><li>Bring a bag to take the dyed items home (as they are wet), gloves and an apron.</li><li>Please wear comfortable clothes that can get dirty.</li><li>Bring the items you want to dye (up to 300g).</li></ul>Workshop Information<ul><li>Date: September 5th, 2022</li><li>Time: 17:00 - 18:30 (At the entrance of Mediamatic at 16:50)</li><li>Location: Mediamatic（Dijksgracht 6, 1019 BS Amsterdam), outside workshop area</li><li>Duration: 1.5 hours</li><li>Maximum participants: 10 participants per workshop</li></ul>About Yukihito KanaiYukihito Kanai runs KANAI KOUGEI and inherits the mud-dyeing techniques handed down in the Amami Oshima island to the present day. This special workshop uses Amami Oshima Yeddo Hawthorn and mud in the dye processes.
