Mullet Academy exists to create an even playing field for all musicians. It aims to democratise music industry knowledge, build community, and empower independent artists with the tools to thrive.
For this one, we’re bringing in musical multi-hyphenate Lincoln Lim. He’s a music entrepreneur, a vocal coach, a songwriter, event organiser, artist… the list goes on. Over his 18 year career in music, he has strived to live and experience as much as possible, from performing on a festival stage in front of thousands to opening a music venue far away from his native home of Singapore.
Now focusing on developing others and facilitating space for creativity and artistry with a heart in community, Lincoln runs PARLOUR Amsterdam, a music school, venue, and creative hub that’s dedicated to making a world of difference for music teachers, musicians, and songwriters of all levels—with an eye on building, funding, and helping to develop any promising, new ideas that could enable others to make music-making a sustainable way of living.
This workshop is a discourse—a chance to form a strategy with all different ways you can “make it” in the music industry, whatever your definition of "making it" is! He’ll go over the good, the bad, and the ugly of working in the many different pockets of this world, showing you that “making it” can look vastly different from what you initially thought.
As usual, the night will end with a live performer (to be announced) chosen just for you.
