About this event
- Event lasts 4 hours
Automated tests are a great way to continuously ensure that specific expectations about the software that you’re building are still being met. But did you know that your automated tests can deceive you? Do you know what the quality of your automated tests really is? Or, as the Roman Poet Juvenal put it much more eloquently:
Who will guard the guards themselves?
One of the techniques that can help you, your team and organization to get more insight into the quality of your automated tests is mutation testing.
In this workshop, you will learn:
- How your automated tests can deceive you, and why it is important to test your tests
- How the concept of mutation testing works, and what kind of defects in your tests it can (and cannot) detect
- How to use mutation testing tools to inspect, assess and improve the quality of your automated tests
This is a public, online version of the workshop described here: https://www.ontestautomation.com/training/mutation-testing/
Frequently asked questions
The workshop will be run on June 10, 2025, from 2 PM to 6 PM CEST. We will conduct the workshop through Zoom. After your booking has come through successfully, I will send you a unique Zoom link that you can use to participate in the workshop.
I will send detailed instructions to you about a week before the event, but to summarize: you'll need to install a Java Development Kit (JDK) version 21 and an IDE of your choice. The code we are going to work with can be found in a repository I will make available to you.
If you're unhappy with the contents or the quality of the workshop, contact me afterwards and I'll give you a full refund. I'm confident that we won't get in this situation, though.
Yes, no problem. Contact me and we will work something out.
