Learn about how nature-based solutions can deepen our connection with the world around us and improve well-being for people and the planet.

Repairing connections between people and the planet is a vital part of sustainability. Research increasingly shows that nature-based programs have the potential to foster meaningful relationships between people and nature, helping to improve social ties, mental and physical health outcomes, and sustainable behaviours.In this session, we highlight how nature-based initiatives can strengthen people's connections with and access to nature and promote a holistic approach to health and well-being. We are exploring how this is happening and adding up on the ground, and what it means for nature and society.Can we work with multiple nature-based solutions to create outcomes that address long-standing socio-economic challenges, enhance biodiversity and respond to climate change? Or do we face trade-offs between different places, people and outcomes?Working in a transdisciplinary consortium involving universities, consultants and NGOs, we hope to identify how new kinds of NATURESCAPES can generate transformative change for the future.
