Event description
Join us for an exclusive Omek Networking Lunch!

About this event

On Day 3 of the Omek Summit x Africadelic Cultural Festival we will host a networking lunch rooted in African Cultural History and set in a safe space in the heart of Amsterdam. You’re invited to celebrate with us! What can you expect? Facilitation by Chantelle L. do Rosário , write your own *Oriki, meet other like minded professionals from the diaspora, learn from each other and share a great meal!

Sneak Peek Menu:

Get ready for a 3-course lunch menu with a Trinidadian twist prepared by Stephan Duncan, head chef at Callaloo Hoek, and one of the great supporters of the Omek community! The menu includes everything from Spinach Accras to Calypso Chicken, and of course we will not forget dessert! Traditional meat options will be served, however, a full vegan selection is also available.

Organized in partnership with Water en Brood:

Water en Brood, a dynamic and trendy Black-owned restaurant cafe located in the heart of Amsterdam East lives by the mantra “Good Food, No Bullshit.” The owner Rachid and his fabulous staff serve up everything from açai bowls to chicken and waffles to dishes inspired by his Surinamese roots and beyond.

We can't wait to host you, see you soon!

*An oríkì is a Yoruba greeting of the word orí meaning “head” and kì meaning “to greet or praise”. An oríkì is a Yoruba greeting that praises you through your kinship and speaks life to your destiny. It reminds one of who they are, where they are from, and what they represent. It is a standing ovation for your spirit. Everyone should have one!
