Neuroqueer care workshop
Overview
About the workshop
This workshop is a guided exploration on queer neurodivergent care, and how to practice it with ourselves and our community. We will work on mapping & visualizing all of the ways in which we can receive/share care to or from our community and ourselves.
During the workshop, there will be room to share about our experience as neurodivergent beings and explore the differences and overlaps that we find within our community.
If you do not identify as being neurodivergent, this workshop is still for you, as it closely related to the queer experience as a whole and takes into account all of our different physical and mental experiences and (dis)abilities.
About Neuroqueer Theory
Neuroqueer Theory is a framework that challenges both (cis)heteronormativity and neuronormativity in an intersectional way, taking into account all of our diverse experiences as queer and/or neurodivergent beings as a whole. It is a framework that looks at neurodivergence through a queer lens and is closely related to (and intertwined with) disability justice and queer theory. Neuroqueer theory recognizes the often overlapping experiences that we as queer and neurodivergent people have, even if we might not identify with both - however, as you’ve probably noticed, a lot of us do ;)
Neuroqueer peer to peer support
This workshop is an introduction to our soon to be opening up peer to peer support sessions, that will be held bi-weekly online. If you are interested in joining, you can visit our website and subscribe to the wailist.
