NL Crit Series: Draai van de Kaai Invitational
Date and time
Description
Draai van de Kaai is an invites only fixed gear race during the Draai Van De Kaai, one of the most famous criteriums held in the weeks after Le Tour de France. Invitees will be sent a unique code that can be used once to get their free ticket to this special race.
Since the first edition back in 1980 the event has become one of the most prestigious cycling criteriums in The Netherlands. Traditionally held on the second Monday after the Tour de France, some big names in cycling history feature the list of winners. Like Marcel Kittel, Alejandro Valverde, Mark Cavendish, Alberto Contador, Tom Boonen, Mario Cipollini and ‘our own’ Joop Zoetemelk, the last Dutch winner of the Tour de France back in 1980.
Last year’s edition was won by Jarlinson Pantano, winner of the 15th stage in the Tour de France of 2016.
Combining top level cycling and entertainment, ‘De Draai’ attracts about 15.000 visitors.
Our race will be positioned in between the elite ladies criterium and the pro men’s road race. The race won’t be part of our regular NL Crit Series competition. It will be an invitational race featuring the best national and international male riders possible.
Race date will be Monday 31st July, starting time around 5pm
