We like to warmly invite you to join the NL@MWC community event November 19th, hosted by Fairphone in Amsterdam and powered by Ecosystem Services.Four times per year Ecosystem Services organises a get together in the Netherlands as community interested in themes and topics related to Mobile World Congres (MWC) Barcelona, the largest conference in the world about connectivity and the place to be to meet all the Telecom operators in the world including the whole ecosystem around it.Each NL event gives insights in the latest available information about future trends, the MWC conference, including exhibiting and network opportunities and other relevant updates from the Dutch Program and Pavilion plus the startup area at 4YFN. The NL events also provides an invaluable opportunity to learn about the innovativeness and experience within the community and to get to know the other inspiring people, speakers and companies interested in what MWC is all about. John van der Ree, Business Development Manager at Fairphone, will share how sustainability can be more than a moral choice - it can be a driver of competitive advantage. Fairphone proves that it’s possible to grow in a demanding market with a fairer value chain, circular materials, and transparent production. John will highlight how companies can truly outperform by placing sustainability at the core of their business model.

How can you outperform with sustainability

Maurice van Rooijen will speak on procurement as a driver of innovation and strategic capability. With experience as a procurer at Rijkswaterstaat, contributor to PIANOo, founder of the Innovation-Oriented Procurement Working Group, and currently projectleader innovation procurement at Commando Materials and IT, Maurice works on leveraging procurement to strengthen ecosystems and reduce strategic dependencies.

His core message: procurement is not administrative, it’s strategic. When used intentionally, it can unlock new technology, accelerate development, and reinforce European industrial resilience.
