De Stichting Jazz in Groningen wil haar doelstelling: 'het bevorderen van de jazz en geïmproviseerde muziek in de meest brede zin van het woord', vervullen door met haar reguliere concerten te zorgen voor continuïteit in het bijzondere muziekaanbod op kleinere podia.

De improviserende strijkers schijnen een nieuw licht op het aloude strijkkwartet met hun uitgesproken improvisaties, innovatieve speelwijzen en eigenzinnige composities, geïnspireerd door moderne jazz, wereldmuziek, modern klassiek en EDM. Ze borduren hiermee voort op een jonge traditie die begon bij het Amerikaanse Turtle Island Quartet in 1985.Het kwartet is al jarenlang internationaal actief en speelde op toonaangevende festivals waaronder North Sea Jazz, Salzburg Jazz &amp; the City en Canarias Jazz &amp; Más.
