Elk jaar nodigt CKB Zuidoost een jonge curator van kleur uit om een tentoonstelling samen te stellen. Dit jaar is het de Indonesische Dewi Sofia Laurente, die kunstenaars bijeenbracht voor het thema arbeid in koloniaal, hedendaags en diasporisch Indonesië, gezien door een vrouwelijke en genderqueer lens.
De tien kunstenaars uit Indonesië en Nederland vertellen elk op hun eigen manier over de rol van gemarginaliseerde of zelfs onzichtbare groepen arbeiders, die zonder erkend te worden toch een onmisbare economische rol speelden en nog altijd spelen.
De tentoonstelling is ingericht als een tweedehands boekenstal zoals die op de straten in Indonesië om de kracht en essentie te benadrukken die informatie speelt in het emanciperen, bevrijden en zichtbaar maken van mensen zonder stem.
De deelnemende kunstenaars zijn Fitri DK (ID), Ratu R. Saraswati (NL/ID), Dian Septi Trisnanti (ID), Tamarra (ID), Marie Civikov (NL), Nabila Ernada (NL/ID), Ramal Karmarama (ID), Nynke Deinema (NL), Clementine Oomes (NL) en Rizqita Naherta (NL/ID).

Every year, CKB Zuidoost invites a young curator of colour to put together an exhibition. This year, it is Indonesian/Dutch Dewi Sofia Laurente, who brought together artists for the theme of labour in colonial, contemporary and diasporic Indonesia, seen through a female and genderqueer lens.
The ten artists from Indonesia and the Netherlands each tell their own story about the role of marginalised or even invisible groups of workers, who, without being recognised, played and still play an indispensable economic role.
The exhibition is set up as a second-hand bookstall like those found on the streets of Indonesia to emphasise the power and essence of information in emancipating, liberating and making visible people without a voice.
