Opening TEC ART Festival 2026

Nieuwe Instituut is het nationale museum voor architectuur, design en digitale cultuur. Nieuwe Instituut houdt zich bezig met de grote ontwikkelingen in de maatschappij, zoals de krapte op de woningmarkt, de energietransitie, de opkomst van kunstmatige intelligentie, mobiliteit of het gebruik van de publieke ruimte. Ontwerpers, waaronder architecten en digitale makers, kunnen aan die ontwikkelingen een belangrijke bijdrage leveren. Nieuwe Instituut toont het werk van ontwerpers, brengt mensen met elkaar in contact, verzamelt, ontwikkelt en deelt kennis.

TEC ART Festival and Nieuwe Instituut welcome you to the opening event and film screening of Afterlives by Kevin B. Lee.

Nieuwe Instituut and TEC ART Festival invite you to the opening event of TEC ART 2026, featuring the Dutch premiere of Afterlives (2025) by filmmaker and media artist Kevin B. Lee. The evening begins with a welcome by Sanneke Huisman and Guido Bertling, followed by the screening of Lee’s latest feature-length desktop documentary exploring how images of extremist propaganda circulate, transform, and persist across history and digital media.<a href="https://tecart.nl/" title="https://tecart.nl/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">TEC ART</a> is an art festival that explores how technology mediates and shapes our lives, politics, and perception of reality. The 2026 edition, “Learn to Love the Bomb,” brings together international artists who critically examine how war is mediated through contemporary media and technology. From 26 March until 29 March, Museumpark Rotterdam will transform into a large-scale group exhibition, where artists react to the social, political, and technological systems shaping the war-driven world of the 21st century.Kevin B. Lee Kevin B. Lee has produced nearly 400 video essays and is a pioneer of the “desktop documentary” format. He is the Locarno Film Festival Professor for the Future of Cinema and the Audiovisual Arts at Università della Svizzera italiana.
