MaMA x Nieuwe Instituut: Meme Talk around Portal Park

Nieuwe Instituut is het nationale museum voor architectuur, design en digitale cultuur. Nieuwe Instituut houdt zich bezig met de grote ontwikkelingen in de maatschappij, zoals de krapte op de woningmarkt, de energietransitie, de opkomst van kunstmatige intelligentie, mobiliteit of het gebruik van de publieke ruimte. Ontwerpers, waaronder architecten en digitale makers, kunnen aan die ontwikkelingen een belangrijke bijdrage leveren. Nieuwe Instituut toont het werk van ontwerpers, brengt mensen met elkaar in contact, verzamelt, ontwikkelt en deelt kennis.

An afternoon about the blurring of the lines between the digital and the real world.

Immerse yourself in the fusion of the digital and the real world during the meme presentation by NRC journalist Süeda Işik around the exhibition <a href="https://thisismama.nl/en/events/general/portal-park/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Portal Park</a>, on display in the showroom of MaMA. During the evening, Işik and the audience explore the intertwining of shitposts and journalism, the blurring of the boundaries between the online and offline world and how Gen-Z uses the internet as a form of self-expression.Süeda IşikSüeda Işik is a journalist at NRC. In her work she focuses on what the boundaries are between the real world and virtual worlds.
