About this Event
What you will learn
A hands-on, one day intensive and comprehensive workshop on plaster portrait casting. You will learn the process of preparation, casting, opening the mould and finishing the sculpture. Abeer will take you through the steps at the start of the workshop, then he will discuss with you the best approach to cast a portrait of another participant.
- You will have the chance to take home a portrait casting of yourself.
- By the end of the course, you will be able to.
- Identify the correct process to cast a portrait.
- Prepare the area before casting.
- How to apply plaster in the body and remove it safely.
- Complete a plaster based portrait cast.
- Understand and practice Health and Safety procedures and good workshop practice.
Class format and activities
There will be demonstrations, one to one instructions and discussions in order to ensure that you make the best possible progress during the workshop. You will have feedback from your tutor, in a constructive, supportive and friendly environment.
