This meetup takes a grounded, beginner-friendly approach to preparedness. Together we will explore:
- How to create a personalized emergency plan: Using a simple and memorable checklist, participants will map out what their household already has and what they might need.
- Types of emergencies and planning: How to categorize different situations and plan practical steps for each.
- Simple ways to include neighbors, friends, and family in your preparedness.
- Emergency Cooking Challenge: In small groups, we will create a simple, tasty meal using canned and shelf-stable foods, while learning how to plan food storage and prepare for electricity or water outages.
You do not need to know anything in advance, just come as you are. If you are already thinking about preparedness, you are also warmly welcome to share your experience.

We are going into the colder season, so please dress warmly. The greenhouse has no heating. If there is no sun it can get cold but we will have a wood stove.
