Propela X Neon Moiré Session #1
Event Information
About this Event
In 2021, the events industry as we know will continue to be reshaped - how can we reshape it together? What can we learn from the “Zoom revolution” and digital-physical hybrid formats of 2020? How might online-offline create new opportunities? What can we learn from experts outside of our industry? What learnings can event organisers share with each other?
Events industry veterans Propela and Neon Moiré are excited to invite you to a new series of online gatherings for event professionals, by event professionals where we traverse the opportunities (and challenges) for the events industry.
Each month we’ll be hosting an online session that will cover a topic that is challenging organisers around the world. We’ll invite leading minds in their fields to help us unpick the year ahead.
First session: Tuesday 23rd February
We ran a poll with our clients and discovered that 70% of event organisers feel that audience networking and engagement are their biggest challenges in 2021. Bearing in mind that in some regions hybrid events will be possible, and for other regions this format will be the first step to events IRL, our first session off the bat is….
“So you built a virtual community in 2020 - now what?”
How do you combine the irreplaceable value of in-person with the amazing reach and insights provided by virtual?
We’re inviting 3 leaders in their fields to help us understand the human need to connect, and how to leverage that in the virtual realm in 2021.
Adah Parris - Artist, Futurist, and Cultural Strategist
A polymath and curator of people, patterns and stories, Adah has been recognised as one of the UK’s Top 100 Black and Minority Ethnic Leaders in Technology and was nominated by Google for TED‘s Global Emerging Innovators list.
Alex Bec - Co-owner of It’s Nice That
It’s Nice That is a leading online platform that celebrates creativity, with over 2 million readers per month. Nicer Tuesdays is their monthly evening of talks, a source of inspiration for creative people of all types from across the globe. Like most events in 2020, in April it went virtual.
Peter Mandeno - Networking Entrepreneur and PhD student in Human Connections
Peter is on a mission to create a better-connected world through relevant and meaningful connections between people - and not just digital ones. He’s the founder of Wok+Wine, a global networking evening that Harvard Business Review described as “an experiment in social chemistry”, Peter is now undertaking a PhD at Imperial College London in human connectivity. In 2020 he curated 4 unique experiences for The House of Beautiful Business in London - one of the few global events to go fully hybrid in 2020.
