We are happy to come back with our series of Queer Poetry Nights in Rotterdam after a while, this time for a special summer edition at WORM on Saturday July 22nd.Unwanted Words is an award-winning platform for up &amp; coming queer voices in poetry &amp; spoken word. Our Queer Poetry Nights was our first event series in our mission to create safer space for queer expression and to encourage all queer voices to take the mic and share their literary work.We will showcase a line-up of 4-5 performers and finish up with an open mic. Most forms of literary expression are allowed, such as spoken word, poetry, op-eds, drama, performances, as long as the speakers commit to comply with the 10 minute maximum allocated time per performer of the line-up and one piece per open mic performer.🎟️: FREE ENTRANCE📣 OPEN CALL 📣If you would like to share your texts or perform, please send your application before July 10th in the following form: https://forms.gle/zgA5q4kPFHssvkNBAEvery edition we offer 4-5 spots for the line-up. The line-up for each edition is selected on a first-come, first served basis.If the line-up for that edition is complete, we will let you know and you can choose to still perform in the open mic section or to get a spot in our next edition.🖌 OPEN MIC 🖌After the line-up, we will have some spaces for open mic for writers and performers in the audience who feel inspired to share their work.We are an inclusive intersectional platform trying to build safer spaces, and we believe that inclusion ends with exclusion. Any form of hate speech is not welcome at our stage. Therefore: by agreeing to perform at the open mic, you agree to abstain to make any expressions of racism, xeno-, homo-, transphobia, misogyny, racism , sexism, fat shaming, ableism and the propagation of discriminatory ideas (if you use it in a certain context in which you think it is appropriate, because it draws attention to any form of exclusion, please let us read or know in advance) .If your texts cover sensitive topics such as (sexual) abuse, racism or other themes where you suspect a trigger warning is in order, please let us know.
