eScience Center Digital Skills Programme

<H2>Data handling is an integral part of every modern scientific research process. In this one-day hands-on workshop experts from SURFsara and the Netherlands eScience Center introduce basic data skills and services available within the Dutch National Digital Infrastructure.</H2>
With the advance of new technologies, data volumes and numbers of files are constantly increasing. Good data management is therefore an essential part of data-driven research. In this course we will introduce how to efficiently manage data with iRODS and to build computational pipelines on HPC infrastructure employing this data.
Topics in this course will include:

iRODS concepts

iRODS graphicxal user interface
</LI>
<LI>
Labeling data and searching for data in iRODS
</LI>
<LI>
Building a computational pipeline that draws on data managed in iRODS
</LI>

This workshop is targeted at scientific researchers (PhD students, postdocs, professors) from all academic disciplines.

Programming skills are relevant, but not required.

Practical information and materials will be made available before the workshop. Lunch and coffee are included.
