Research Night: The Asterisk*

Would you like to know how to add more context to archives? During this Research Night, we will share the results of using the Asterisk* – a tool that helps to enrich and critically describe archival documents. The Asterisk* is intended for researchers and (archival) institutions, as well as for people who enjoy working with archives but struggle to find what they are looking for.

The programme, consisting of discussions and presentations, features the presentation of the new Asterisk* manual. How can institutions and researchers use the Asterisk* tool in their own work? What next steps are possible for the Asterisk*?

The Asterisk*

The Asterisk* is a tool for critically describing archival materials by examining them in new ways. It focuses on items in the collection that receive little attention and stories that have not yet been told. The more information we add to an object, the greater the chance that researchers and other interested parties will find it. In this way, institutions can make their heritage more accessible and diverse.
