To cope with the specific needs of the wire & cable production environment, time and length stamped tracking and reliable data management are preconditions for any Industry 4.0 production set-up. AESA’s CIQ (Computer Integrated Quality) is the quality data management solution specifically developed with and for cable manufacturers. It networks not only testing devices but also continuous production measurement equipment. The acquired data is stored in a central data pool and tracked values can be compared at both global and discrete levels. Each segment of a wire, or element of a cable, can be traced either backwards to raw material supplies, or forward towards the distributed end-product. Bidirectional communication allows for the gathering and the combining of product and production information with cable design tools, MES, ERPs or other databases.
