A full-day class on how to take an idea and turn it into a riso print, all the way from file prep to the grand finale. Beginners welcome.
Intro to Riso
Join us for a deep dive into the wonderful world of risography.
This 6-hour workshop is taught in English. We start off with coffee and tea, an intro to risography, a file-preparation session, and then everyone gets to print their designs.
The workshop fee includes 5 prints in two colors of your own design in A3 (on our favorite off-white EOS paper at 90g thickness) and a list of resource links sent after the workshop.
IMPORTANT NOTES
This course covers both file preparation and riso operational techniques. But it is very important that you read over the basics of riso file preparation prior to the class (we recommend the "PREPARING YOUR FILES FOR RISO" section on this website: risottostudio.com/pages/basic-print-setup).
Make sure to bring your digital file and a laptop, or a physical piece to scan :) Files will be A3-sized pdfs with a margin of 5 mm, set to grayscale, with a resolution of 300 DPI.
Please ensure that Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator are installed and functioning properly on your laptop. You may use alternative software such as Affinity or Spectrolite, but be aware that these programs won’t be covered during the workshop, and the workshop lead may not be able to assist you with preparing your files if you choose to use them.
Accessibility: If you require specific accessibility arrangements, please contact us in advance at riso@onomatopee.net so we can ensure appropriate accommodations are made to support your participation.
Cancellation: If you cancel more than 12 hours before the workshop begins, your payment can be transferred to another RISO 101 Course in the future.
