Join us for an afternoon where natural fragrance becomes a field of awareness, tea becomes a gesture of grounding, and compassion becomes a quiet practice of being present.
Inspired by the ritual lineages of Tibet, Japan, and China, Ritual of Compassion weaves incense, tea, breath, and gentle sensory meditation into a refined experience of both practice and knowledge sharing.
Initiated by Editions Alaya — an art-driven natural fragrance brand — in collaboration with the esteemed Chinese Tea Master Yi Le Ye Atelier in Paris.
What to Expect
· An introduction to the incense ritual traditions of China, Japan (kōdō), and Tibet, including cultural context and traditions
· Guided practice of breathing and mindful observation for incense meditation
· Understanding the basic materials, tools, and gestures of the Chinese incense ceremony
· Participation in a creative compassion ritual, blending incense, breath, and intention
· A rare one-to-one session with a premium agarwood incense stick, one of the most precious aromatic materials
· A collective Tibetan incense experience using a blend formulated under the guidance of a Tibetan Rinpoche
· An Editions Alaya “Ritual of Compassion” card set, designed for continued practice at home
Paired with a curated tea tasting led by Tea Master Zhang Le, featuring aged and artisanal teas known for depth and clarity:
