How does play and creativity help engineers to better understand robotics? Meet the robots lovingly constructed out of junk tech by TU Delft students.
Understanding robots requires attention beyond mere function and form. These machines emerge from a complex web of relationships that span time and space— from workers in mines, war negotiations, politicians' speeches, sci-fi worlds, and e-waste sites.
If engineers trained at TU Delft are to attend to this complexity, there needs to be a shift in education programs. Over this interactive hour, we'll explore what an experimental, imaginative, and ecological technology education might look like, based on our experience teaching the course Robots and Society. Expect discussions on robotics, education, and whether or not engineering universities are equipped to meet the challenges of the day. Lunch will be provided.
