Rotterdam: Remembering Forward w/ Hilde Sennema and Mitchel Sam-Sin
Overview
Beyond Buildings / Rotterdam: Remembering Forward
How the city’s past reinventions can inspire its next ones.
Rotterdam is a city that has reinvented itself time and again – from the devastation of war to its bold rise as a hub of modern architecture and culture. But what can these reinventions teach us about shaping the city’s next chapter?
For the 5th edition of Beyond Buildings, historian and writer Hilde Sennema and creative and cultural connector Mitchel Sam-Sin reflect on the city’s past while imagining its future, in a conversation moderated by author and journalist Dore van Duivenbode. Together, they will explore how Rotterdam’s history of experimentation, resilience, and bold ideas can inspire a more beautiful, inclusive, and optimistic tomorrow.
Join us for a conversation that connects the city’s rich past with the possibilities ahead.
