rTMS in Depression, OCD & New Developments: Practical Workshop

De workshop wordt verzorgd door minimaal 2 van onderstaande trainers:

Dr. Helena Voetterl, Neurowetenschapper & rTMS Supervisor

In deze praktische workshop krijgen deelnemers gelegenheid om de rTMS / TMS uit te voeren en te ervaren volgens wetenschappelijk aangetoonde protocollen. Middels het werken in kleine groepjes, verwerven deelnemers praktische ervaring in het bepalen van de motorische drempel, het plaatsen van de spoel en het bedienen van verschillende TMS-systemen en instellingen. The workshop can also be provided in English for English speaking participants.

De deelnemers maken kennis met minimaal 2 van de volgende TMS-systemen:
- MagStim Rapid
- Deymed DuoMag rTMS Stimulator
- MagVenture MagPro R30
- Apollo / Power Mag TMS Therapie Systeem

De trainingsdag omvat een korte samenvatting van de theorie, een demonstratie en oefening met:
- Het voorbereiden van de patiënt en het lokaliseren en markeren van de DLPFC
- De 5-cm regel om de DLPFC te bepalen en markeren
- Het lokaliseren en markeren van de SMA
- Het vinden van de motorische drempel
- Het plaatsen van de spoel boven de rechter DLPFC
- Het plaatsen van de spoel boven de linker DLPFC
- Het plaatsen van de spoel boven de SMA
- Veiligheidsaspecten van rTMS

In this practical workshop, participants will have the opportunity to conduct and experience rTMS/TMS according to evidence based protocols. Working in small groups, participants will gain practical experience in determining the motor threshold, placing the coil, and operating various TMS-systems and settings. The workshop can also be provided in English for English-speaking participants.

Participants will be introduced to at least 2 of the following TMS systems:

• MagStim Rapid
• Deymed DuoMag rTMS Stimulator
• MagVenture MagPro R30
• Apollo / Power Mag TMS Therapy System
  

The training day includes, a short summary of the theoretical background, demonstrations and practice with:

• Preparing the patient and locating and marking the DLPFC
• 5-cm rule to locate & mark DLPFC
• Locating and marking the SMA
• Finding the motor threshold
• Positioning the coil over the right DLPFC
• Positioning the coil over the left DLPFC
• Positioning the coil over the SMA
• Safety aspects of rTMS
