This interactive event - a combination of talks and a workshop - will take place on Wednesday, April 19, as part of the Milan Design Week 2023.<h3>Program</h3>We advocate for a paradigm shift in urban development, which emphasises participatory engagement of all stakeholders in the process of remaking the city. To contribute to its future, we need to understand and focus on the social transformation of the city and the importance of local communities in it. By zooming in on cities, discovering a collection of smaller environments, and involving its stakeholders starting with residents, we can understand the unique characteristics and needs of each community and address their specific challenges.How to create ecosystems where people flourish, with ample opportunities for social connection, mutual support, and collaborative engagement? How to (re)shape the city through participatory design? How to codesign neighbourhoods built on the (future) needs and lives of citizens? How to adapt the existing physical fabric of cities to evenly serve the needs of each community? Designers, local government and other stakeholders all play an essential role in creating a vibrant ecosystem of services for every neighbourhood that fosters the development of a truly thriving and equitable society.The SDD Satellite Milan is an interactive event that combines talks and a workshop, enabling participants to learn and practise participatory service design and community involvement. Your host, Alberto Imberti, will welcome and usher you into an inspirational talk by Filippo Lodi (UNStudio), followed by a presentation of case studies on participatory research by Alvise Mattozzi (Politecnico di Torino). In the second part, you will practise a design framework for inclusive and participatory city-making under the guidance of Alexandra Coutsoucos (Livework). The SDD Satellite will conclude with an open discussion among speakers and participants led by Alice Casiraghi (Future Urban Living).Register for free! This Food Hub is part of a larger project aimed at developing new processes of participation, relationships, and economies in the areas surrounding the centre of Milan. Building on Mare&#x27;s strong commitment to social inclusion and cultural innovation, the format involves creating a new reality that includes a pizzeria, brewery, coffee shop, community building and more.* ITALIAN * La conferenza organizzata da Service Design Days in occasione della Milano Design Week 2023 si terrà presso la Cascina Merlata mercoledí 19/04 alle ore 14:00. Si tratta di un evento speciale ed interattivo: attraverso una combinazione di interventi e di un workshop verranno illustrate pratiche di service design e di progettazione partecipativa quali approcci di successo nella progettazione urbana. Si approfondirà il concetto del coinvolgimento di progettisti, governi locali e altri attori fondamentali dell’ecosistema cittadino in un dialogo costruttivo volto a rispondere ai bisogni attuali e futuri delle comunità che ne fanno parte. Ecco alcune delle sfide che saranno affrontate nel corso dell’appuntamento:<ul><li>Come creare ecosistemi nei quali le persone possano prosperare e godere di ampie opportunità di socializzazione, supporto reciproco e impegno collaborativo?</li><li>Come (ri)plasmare la città attraverso la progettazione partecipativa? </li><li>Come co-progettare quartieri costruiti attorno ai bisogni (futuri) e alla vita dei cittadini che li abitano? </li><li>Come adattare l’esistente tessuto fisico delle città in modo da soddisfare efficacemente le esigenze di ciascuna comunità?</li></ul>L’evento si aprirá con la partecipazione di Filippo Lodi (UNStudio) e Alvise Mattozzi (Politecnico di Torino), che illustreranno progetti ed esempi di successo nell’ambito del service e social design. Seguirà un breve workshop, guidato da Alexandra Coutsoucos (Livework), durante il quale i partecipanti avranno la possibilitá di mettere in pratica gli strumenti della progettazione partecipativa. Alice Casiraghi (Future Urban Living), infine, concluderá la conferenza con una discussione guidata.La registrazione è gratuita!
