Spirit Rock World x Fairy Gathering

Discover the lush greenery of Strijp-S backyard parks through a relational lens. Together, we will venture onto the foresty paths to forage for functional plants and deepening our understanding of what nature provides. Inspired by ancestral knowledge, we will weave our journey together with a fire and a playful, ritualistic outdoor dinner—a moment to share, reflect, and truly connect.

We meet at the spot (the Shack’s garden) until everyone arrived, to start an introduction circle. We explain a bit of who we are, what we do and the program of the evening. We invite everyone to shortly introduce themselves.

We continue under guidance of Floor to do a foraging walk, where she will explain about the history of plant knowledge, herbalism and foraging and how we can implement those things into our modern lives - with consideration for local nature and the way we relate to other non-human beings.

We will choose 2-3 plants to forage for our workshop, making sure to do so respectfully and safely.

We take the harvested goods back to the location, to use some of it as natural incense for our ceremony led by Spirit Rock - weaving seasonal folk celebrations with our current experience.

After that, we will continue to work the harvest into a small dish (a nettle-dandelion pesto) and a drink (pine tea infusion) to accompany our dinner.

Then we’ll get to the big shared dinner with local+seasonal food prepared by Araxia, on the dinner tables adorned with tableware made by Spirit Rock World - creating space to enjoy our harvest, get to know each other better and reflect on our experience.

Additionally, we will give everyone a flyer with the things we learned during the workshop, and to inspire to keep getting to know the local flora.
