Program Detail:

Anxiety is your body’s natural response to stress which can be beneficial in some situations such as alerting us to danger but when anxiety causes us to be fearful, to hide and to self-destruct we lose ourselves and become trapped in a mind of fear and uncertainty. Have you noticed after sharing your doubts and worries with someone it feels like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders? Fear loses its power when we face it and see it for what it really is and gives us the power not to believe the negative thoughts created by our anxiety.

Our program aims to provide you with the tools to help manage your anxiety. Discover the science behind anxiety and the affects it has on your body and mind. In this workshop we bring together Western and Eastern methodologies by integrating both perspectives in the understanding of anxiety. You will learn to challenge negative thoughts, recognize your triggers and the difficulties they bring to your daily life, understand the different layers of your inner self and discover what your anxiety has to tell you.

By participating in this program attendees will explore the following:

  • Learn why anxiety might become your friend
  • Discover the science behind anxiety
  • Learn how to befriend your anxiety
  • Understand the parts of yourself and your anxiety

Who is this program for: Everyone who suffers from anxiety

A 2.5 hour live-online session will be held each week and will cover the following topics:

Week 1 (3 November 2021):

  • How Stress and anxiety affect your brain.
  • Learning the difference between stress and anxiety.
  • How stress and anxiety influence your brain overtime.

Week 2 (10 November 2021):

  • Anxiety can cause physical symptoms.
  • Cultural factors influencing anxiety, such as racism, ageism

Week 3 (17 November 2021):

  • Understanding your anxiety can be the first step.
  • Your mind/body connection – a resource.

Week 4 (24 November 2021):

  • Integrating your learnings, listening to what is underneath your anxiety, thinking about attachment-generational trauma.

Each week there will be time for questions and reflections. Although the symptoms of anxiety might be similar, we all deal with recovery from anxiety in different ways and this will be up to each individual as to whether you would like to share or to just take this time to reflect on the experience of others and how you might relate.

Please Note:

  • Each event will open 10 minutes prior to starting to provide you with time to login-in and get comfortable.
  • There will be a 15 minute interval during each session.
  • Sessions will not be recorded for privacy purposes.
  • After you have signed up for your program you will receive a Zoom link to enter our virtual self-care space.
