Serious gaming takes center stage at Avans Creative Innovation with a series of talks and workshops. This event explores the use of games beyond entertainment, such as in education, healthcare, and business, under the guidance of Professor Menno Deen. Dive deep into how games can be used as powerful tools for learning, problem-solving, and social impact. Whether you’re a developer looking to create meaningful experiences or an enthusiast interested in the power of serious games, this program will offer valuable insights into the future of gaming. <h2>Program Highlights</h2>Dive into how games contribute to real-world change with presentations and workshops by experts:•Citizen Science Games: Dr. Rob Tieben of Games for Health shows how games enrich traditional research methods by transforming research questions into interactive experiences.•Play the City: Dr. Ekim Tan explores games as tools for community involvement in urban planning, focusing on co-creation for ’t Zoet.•Playful Dialogues: Dr. Menno Deen examines games as catalysts for constructive dialogue on urban development.•Play Safe: Led by Karel Millenaar, this workshop explores engaging communities in creating safer spaces through play.Learn to design games that foster positive social impact!
