Sharing is Caring is a conference platform focused on collaboration and sharing in the cultural heritage sector, bringing together practitioners, researchers, and users of culture.
In analogy to <A HREF="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0NHOpeczUU" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">the TED conferences and local TEDx extensions</A>, the format is spreading from the core-event in Denmark to other countries, where local extensions address the topics that are close to their heart and community. 
After the first extension in Hamburg, <A HREF="https://be.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Belgium" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Wikimedia Belgium</A> and <A HREF="http://packed.be/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">PACKED vzw Centre of Expertise in Digital Heritage </A>are proud to announce 'Sharing is Caring - Brussels Extension: Opening up with Wikimedia' on June 20th at the <A HREF="http://www.kikirpa.be/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage Brussels</A>.
The Sharing is Caring – Brussels extension conference introduces the Belgian heritage sector to the possible applications of the various Wikimedia platforms for opening up digital collections. The conference will showcase examples from museums, libraries and archives from Belgium and abroad.
Besides showcasing Wiki-GLAM cooperations, the goal of the conference is to find motivated individuals and institutions with whom to organise content donations, promote reuse and remix.

De Sharing is Caring – Brussels conferentie introduceert de Belgische erfgoedsector tot de mogelijkheden die de verschillende Wikimedia platformen te beiden hebben voor de erfgoedsector om hun digitale collecties te ontsluiten en te valoriseren. De conferentie zal voorbeelden van musea, bibliotheken en archieven uit België en het buitenland tonen. 
Naast het showcasen van Wiki-GLAM samenwerkingen, is het doel van de conferentie om gemotiveerde individuen en instellingen te vinden waarmee content donaties georganiseerd kunnen worden en (creatief) (her-)gebruik kan worden gestimuleerd.

Sharing is Caring est une plateforme ayant pour objectif de favoriser la coopération et le partage dans le secteur patrimonial en rassemblant des professionnels du domaine culturel ainsi que des chercheurs et usagers.
À l’image des fameuses <A HREF="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0NHOpeczUU" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">conférences TED et des 'extensions' locales TEDx</A>, le format Sharing is Caring s’est répandu du Danemark où il a vu le jour vers d’autres pays, où des 'extensions' locales traitent de thématiques proches de leurs pratiques quotidiennes et de leurs communautés.

Sharing is Caring - Brussels Extension souhaite introduire le secteur patrimonial belge aux possibilités offertes par les différentes plateformes de Wikimedia pour ouvrir et valoriser leurs collections numériques. La conférence présentera des exemples inspirants provenant de musées, de bibliothèques et d’archives en Belgique et à l'étranger.
Hormis l’objectif de donner envie aux personnes présentes d’en faire autant, la conférence a aussi comme but de rassembler des individus et des institutions motivés, avec lesquels organiser des donations de contenus et en encourager leur (re-)utilisation créative.
