About this event

Shifting Mountains is a bike tour through Hoge Bergse Bos, a former landfill turned to large recreational zone on the edge of Rotterdam. Cycling through this transformed landscape, we’ll uncover hidden layers of waste history and explore how buried matter continues to shape our environment. This ride invites reflection on landfills as living heritage sites, notions of centre and periphery, and shifting perceptions of what ‘natual’ is.

Location: Hoge Bergse Bos, the tour starts at Prins Alexanderplein opposite the "Wilskracht Bar en Keuken" Prins Alexanderplein 5, 3067 GC Rotterdam

Transport: Please take with you a bike. You might also be able to rent OV bike or Donkey Republic bike at Rotterdam Alexander. However, the number of bikes available there for rent can be very limited, and if it safer in this regard to take your own bike. In the weekend you can freely travel with your bike on the metro.
