With the holiday season approaching—days filled with warmth, coziness, and being together with friends and family—we take you back in time for a unique and special weekend. What was it like for the heroes who were not home for Christmas, who had to miss their families and endure freezing temperatures while trying to survive winter? What was Christmas like in captivity, without family, in the bitter cold under the Nazi regime? Was there still room for humanity and warmth?
You will relive it on December 20 and 21 at Wings of Liberation.

VISIT THE WINTER WAR EVENT ON DECEMBER 20 AND 21

• WW2 winter experience – Christmas in the trenches
• Experience the harsh winter at the many displays, camps, and artillery positions
• Relive true stories – Christmas in the concentration camps
• End your visit at our field kitchen for a historic drink and bite
• For all children there is a special scavenger hunt with assignments throughout the grounds, and the flight simulator room is open on both days, where kids can learn to fly themselves.

DURING SILENT NIGHTS, ALSO VISIT THE MINI BASECAMP FOR CHILDREN!

Especially for this weekend we are reopening the Mini Basecamp!
At this special place, children learn—under the guidance of a real bushcrafter—how to survive in nature through various activities:
