Ecosystems of Social Entrepreneurship

By Stefan Panhuijsen (Social Enterprise NL), Toke Tom (Gemeente Utrecht) & Niels Bosma (UU)

Local governments are increasingly designing and implementing policies and programmes for enabling social entrepreneurship. At the same time, not much is known yet about the effectiveness and to what extent other stakeholders should be involved. This workshop brings together academic insights on entrepreneurial ecosystems from Utrecht University and practical know-how via the experiences and networks of Social Enterprise NL. Together they will present an initial framework for comparing local ecosystems for social entrepreneurship, leading to a provisional assessment for three Dutch municipalities.
