The Games for Emotional and Mental Health Lab (or GEMH Lab) has partnered with the Buddhist Geeks platform in this fun new project. Our aim is to examine whether participating in a new form of meditation—social meditation—has the potential to improve young adults’ wellbeing!</p><h3>W﻿hat is the study about?</h3><p>Many young people struggle with mental health, and in collaboration with the popular meditation platform Buddhist Geeks, we are exploring whether a new form of meditation—social meditation—can help young people feel better.</p><h3>A﻿m I eligible to participate?</h3><p>You can participate in this study if you match all of the following inclusion criteria:</p><ul><li>A﻿ge 18-35</li><li>B﻿eing able to speak and understand English </li><li>H﻿aving no (or very limited) prior experience with meditation</li></ul><p>I﻿f you have any questions about these criteria and whether or not you fit them, don&#x27;t hesitate to get in touch with us via the contact information below.</p><h3>W﻿hat will I have to do if I sign up?</h3><ul><li>This study consists of participating in <strong>three online social meditation sessions that take place online over the course of three weeks</strong>: Wednesdays 9th of August, 16th of August, 23rd of August, all starting at 16:00 CEST (Netherlands time). <strong>Do not sign up for this event unless you are able to attend all three of these sessions.</strong></li><li>In addition to the meditation sessions we will ask you to fill in a number of<strong> online questionnaires</strong> prior to, in between, or after meditation sessions. </li></ul><p>Rest assured the sessions and questionnaires will be easy enough to complete! Please note that when you sign up for this study, you are signing up for all of the three meditation session dates listed.  </p><p><strong>Important: Once you sign up here on Eventbrite, you will receive an information letter via email with further info to complete and finalise your sign up! </strong>The Zoom link for the meditation sessions will be sent out nearer the time by us.</p><h3>G﻿ood news!</h3><p>In addition to feeling rested and relaxed as a result of our meditation sessions, when you complete the study and all of its elements (sessions + questionnaires), you will also receive a $20 Amazon gift card! </p><h3>C﻿ontact information</h3><p>For any questions about the study, please contact Dr. Nastasia Griffioen at n.griffioen[at]utwente.nl.</p>
