Introduction

Have you ever felt like design and product teams aren’t always aligned?

Welcome to “Somehow I Manage,” a unique evening where we invite you to explore opportunities between product and design teams with some great minds from Spline, Uber, and VEED.IO.

Join 100+ designers, product owners, and managers in their journey of building remarkable products and services.

This night is full of interactive talks, a special performance, and a panel discussion. So join us in A-Lab. Our beautiful creative space right across the central station of Amsterdam. The tickets are selling like warm cookies, so get yours now.

About the event

We all face different phases in the development of a business. From its initial inception all the way to steering an enterprise. During this growth, the synergy between product, business, and design is crucial. Yet, old frictions persist, and new opportunities arise.

During this event, we bring renowned product and design managers to the stage who will share their experiences about what it is like working in their field. They will share how they managed to keep improving the way they work and the way their products and services operate.

We will go over questions like:

  1. How do you deal with conflicting priorities? → Product tends to lean more toward the speed of delivery, whereas design tends to lean more toward delivering user value.
  2. What do you do when visions aren't aligned? → Sometimes, the vision of a business or product is unclear, and teams may end up defining their own vision. These visions can conflict with each other.
  3. What do you do when it is hard to meet users? → Some designers don't feel empowered to learn from real users. Why is that and how can these designers move forward?

Bring your own questions (byoq?)

During this event, we will not only look at our questions, but we invite you to bring your own. The presentations and the panel talk will include interactive moments where you get to ask the things on top of your mind about product management and design.

This is an excellent opportunity to ask a question you are dealing with in your personal context. This can be about how to collaborate more effectively, which skills to focus on in your career, or how to increase the quality of your work.
