108 Sun Salutations in the Park (weather dependent )

Spring Awakening – 108 Sun Salutations in the Park (weather dependent ) 🌸

A powerful community practice to welcome the new season. If the sun gods are not on our side, we will follow up with another date. Exact location in the park will be sent out.

Join us on March 21 for a heart-opening, soul-strengthening community gathering as we celebrate the shift into spring with 108 Sun Salutations a moving meditation traditionally practiced at the change of the seasons.

Sun Salutations can be practiced any time and with any frequency. Traditionally, practicing 108 Sun Salutations is reserved for the change of the seasons. Together, we’ll move in unity through a rhythmic sequence of breath and motion, honoring the sun, our bodies, and the collective energy of community. Whether this is your first time attempting 108 or you’ve done it many times before, this event is open to all levels. Take breaks, move at your own pace, and feel the support of the group around you.

What to expect:

  • A grounding opening circle to set intention
  • A guided flow of 108 Sun Salutations, broken into manageable rounds
  • A nourishing closing meditation and cool-down
  • Space to hang out, journal, or connect with others post-practice

What to bring:

  • Yoga mat
  • Water bottle
  • Towel or blanket
  • An open heart and willingness to move with the group

Why 108?

  • The number 108 appears in ancient, sacred texts. For example, there are 108 Upanishads and 108 Tantras
  • In numerology, 108 equals 9, which symbolizes universal love, eternity and awakening
  • In Ayurveda, there are 108 sacred points on the body
  • In astronomy, the distance between the Sun and Earth is roughly 108 times the Sun’s diameter
  • Mala bead necklaces have 108 beads, which are used to count during meditation

Let’s gather, breathe, move, and raise our collective vibration together under the sun.

All are welcome. No experience needed, just come as you are.
