Description
We are pleased to announce that Silicon Valley legend Steve Blank will be coming by Rockstart Accelerator on the 6th of July to share his thoughts on building a startup.
Program:
14.30 PM - 15.00 - Steve gives a keynote about the early days at one of the nine companies he founded
15.00 PM - 16.00 - Fireside chat with Frans Nauta where Steve answers a number of pre-selected questions from the audience.
There's also room to ask Steve a question about what you are struggling with in your startup. Steve wants to read the questions in advance, so we'll screen the questions and select the best ones. Depending on how many questions will be send in, and how good it is, there is a fair chance Steve will give you personal advice on your startup!
You can submit your question: Here
Questions: email don@Rockstart.com or call 06-546 97 517.
Please note: since there are limited spaces available, we have a strict invitation-only policy. Meaning that you can only come to the event if you've been invited directly by someone (from Rockstart Accelerator). We will have a list at the door which we actively check...
However, if you feel that you're actively helping the Amsterdam startup community, we want to see if we can thank you via a ticket for the 6th Give Don a call and he can see if there might be an extra seat available for you.
About Steve Blank
Not one of two, but eight companies are on his list. Eight challenges leading to two significant implosions, one massive “dot.com bubble” home run, several “base hits” and an immense learning experience! After 21 years of building companies, Steve retired and started looking back. He came to his major insight that start-ups are not small versions of large companies. This new way of looking at start-ups is currently reshaping the way start-ups are built and how entrepreneurship is taught.
“Large companies execute business models, start-ups search for them” - S. Blank
Therefore start-ups need their own tools! Steve designed the Customer Development methodology and this spawned the Lean Start-up movement all over the world. He wrote several books on this topic and he shares his views with entrepreneurs, investors and established companies in his blog, www.steveblank.com
Steve Blank teaches Customer Development and entrepreneurship at Stanford University, U.C. Berkeley Haas Business School and Columbia University, and is visiting professor at Universities throughout the world.
“I might well have been voted “least likely to succeed” in my New York City high school class.” - S. Blank
Steve received a lot of awards and accolades, and he loves sharing his experiences with young entrepreneurs and students.
