About this event
‘Suara’, is an Indonesian word that represents many things. Amongst them: a sound, a voice, an opinion. Concerned about their country’s legacy waiting back home, a group of students utilized the might of their voice, to convey their fight. That very group embodies the spirit of what we now call ‘PPI Belanda’. Marking our century, we want to honor this. We want to celebrate: the distinct Sounds that beats to the rhythm of our people, the Voices that move mountains ensuring peace for all, and Opinions that insist on our freedom of self-determination.
On a pivotal weekend at the place where it all started, the Netherlands, we will reconvene to experience the journey that they went through. We will conduct a series of events: discussion panels, exhibitions that commemorate the brave voices of our nation, and presenting Indonesian brands the platform to promote their products in our own curated market. To end this celebration, we will close it with musical performances by Indonesian artists and musicians.
