Dissenting Decisions is a collective experience; a work-in-progress card game in which we share the pain and pleasures of working with others. A fictitious collective of cultural workers try out actions needed for their group to reach consensus. During the game they are faced with different decisions, while chance and event cards effect how they can communicate and what happens to their group.

Each player has a character card that details their social influence and attitude towards collective decision making. We shape one another in the process of group interactions.

Dissenting Decisions is open for all, but may be of interest for people involved with self-organisation and collective practices.

About amy pickles
amy pickles is an artist and organiser. She experiments with ways to hold onto, and consider, colonial infrastructures we are a part of by studying topographies, intentions and misuses of communication technologies. Studying is both form and content of her practice, which is articulated as curriculum, workshop or works that reconfigure and restage debris from collective learning. Debris is transmitted as experimental writing, sculpture, print, performance, radio and film. She nearly always works with others, and is a member of Varia, Rotterdam NL.

Dissenting Decisions is een collectieve ervaring; een kaartspel in ontwikkeling waarin we de pijn en het plezier van samenwerken delen. Een fictief collectief van culturele werkers experimenteert met de acties die nodig zijn om consensus te bereiken. Tijdens het spel worden ze geconfronteerd met verschillende beslissingen, terwijl kans- en gebeurteniskaarten van invloed zijn op hun communicatie en de gevolgen voor de groep. Elke speler heeft een personagekaart die zijn of haar sociale invloed en houding ten opzichte van collectieve besluitvorming beschrijft. We vormen elkaar in het proces van groepsinteractie.

Dissenting Decisions is toegankelijk voor iedereen, maar is mogelijk interessant voor mensen die zich bezighouden met zelforganisatie en collectieve praktijken.

Over amy pickles
amy pickles is een kunstenaar en organisator. Ze experimenteert met manieren om koloniale infrastructuren waar we deel van uitmaken vast te houden en te bevragen, door topografieën, intenties en misbruiken van communicatietechnologieën te bestuderen. Studeren is zowel vorm als inhoud van haar praktijk, die wordt gearticuleerd als curriculum, workshop of werken die het puin van collectief leren herconfigureren en heropvoeren. Dit puin wordt overgedragen via experimenteel schrijven, sculptuur, drukwerk, performance, radio en film. Ze werkt vrijwel altijd samen met anderen en is lid van Varia, Rotterdam NL.
