Textile Wonderland
Overview
Let's draw on a knitted bag! This session's topic is duplicate stitches, a needlework technique for creating patterns on an existing knitted piece. Inspired by the Have a Good Dog drawing workshop, this session invites you to draw your favorite dog or another animal of your choice and translate it onto a prepared knitted piece using the duplicate stitches. Afterwards, we will make the knitted piece into a unique crossbody bag. No experience needed. Simply having fun with making and exploring an alternative way of drawing.
All the materials used in the workshop are upcycled or deadstock. You’re also welcome to bring your own materials.Pied is an Amsterdam-based handmade knitwear. Through repeated purls and stitches, knitting becomes her way of reconnecting with the world. By working with deadstock and upcycled materials and being responsible for each piece she creates, she aims to make a small but meaningful change within the textile world.
