The ADHD Workshop: The Art and Science of Dating with ADHD
A workshop for adults with ADHD: Why standard dating advice doesn't fit your brain and what does. For diagnosed or self-identified ADHDers
Over 2.5 hours we follow the ADHD dating arc, from the apps to becoming a couple:
- The apps: Why messaging norms weren't built for your attention, and the simple systems that bridge the gap
- First dates: Date formats that let you show up as yourself, and what to do with the urge to perform
- The spark: The intensity of early attraction is one of the best things about dating you; we cover how to enjoy it without letting hyperfocus or rejection sensitivity take the wheel
- The cliff: What the week-six dip actually is,and how to tell settled chemistry from genuine incompatibility
- Being known: How to explain the way your attention works so the right people get it early
You build a personal dating protocol as the evening goes with your own patterns and rules, on one page, to take home. The same wiring behind the friction is what makes you spontaneous and genuinely engaging to date.
Who it's for: adults with ADHD, diagnosed or self-identified, who are single and dating or want to be. You'll never be asked to share anything you don't want to.
Format: small group, short segments, movement and a proper break. Fidgeting is welcome. We start and end on time. Held in English.
This is a psychoeducational workshop, not therapy or a substitute for clinical treatment.
Facilitated by Kate D'Anvers, registered psychologist and ADHD specialist, and Jonas Barre, communications expert, co-founders of Amsterdam Dating School.
