<h3><strong><strong>The Invisible Self: Philosophy Salon</strong></strong></h3><p>How does the self relate to the universe? Are human beings just tiny sparks of consciousness, viewing the universe through their subjective lens? And does the universe care about these fragile sparks? Can the material world welcome or understand the mind? According to many spiritual traditions, this isn't the right way of seeing things. The mind and the universe aren't fundamentally divided. There is no sharp distinction between the small self and the big world. In this Philosophy Salon, we will explore the idea that the self is the (full, giant, awesome) universe. To start, does this view even make sense? Does it undercut the idea that we are unique individuals? And does it imply that consciousness is everywhere - in rocks, trees, and the stars?</p><p><br></p><h3><strong><strong>Meeting Information</strong></strong></h3><p>Doors open at 18:45 and close at 19:10. Please be on time! We dive deep into beliefs and ideas, dive out, and have fun along the way!</p>
