The Mind Game-  Online Opening

Nieuwe Instituut is het nationale museum voor architectuur, design en digitale cultuur. Nieuwe Instituut houdt zich bezig met de grote ontwikkelingen in de maatschappij, zoals de krapte op de woningmarkt, de energietransitie, de opkomst van kunstmatige intelligentie, mobiliteit of het gebruik van de publieke ruimte. Ontwerpers, waaronder architecten en digitale makers, kunnen aan die ontwikkelingen een belangrijke bijdrage leveren. Nieuwe Instituut toont het werk van ontwerpers, brengt mensen met elkaar in contact, verzamelt, ontwikkelt en deelt kennis.

Het Nieuwe Instituut invites you to attend the online opening of The Mind Game, by Charlie Kooolhaas and Madelon Vriesendorp.

The Online Opening of The Mind Game is a virtual tour and intimate conversation about the renewed interest for surrealism, The Mind Game workshop and experiences of living through a global pandemic. The evening will open with a virtual tour of The Mind Game, an exhbition which brings together images, objects and video which document a week long online workshop that occurred in May 2020 amidst the Covid-19 pandemic. In that time of isolation the workshop offered participants a space for connection and playfulness.The online tour will be followed by talks by the creators of the workshop, Madelon Vriesendorp &amp; Charlie Koolhaas and friends.Madelon Vriesendorp is the co-founder of OMA (Office for Metropolitan Architecture), known for her fantasy imagery of cityscapes and architectural surrealism. As the daughter of Madelon Vriesendorp, Charlie Koolhaas has long supported her mother in bringing her work to the public, together collaborating on magazines, books and exhibitions.
