Slow Burn: Writing Seduction Through Pacing

Slow Burn explores seduction: not only romantic, but the magnetic pull between any two people: a conversation, a confrontation, a business exchange. Seduction lives in rhythm, in the ping-pong of attention and retreat, in the unspoken tension between action and reaction.
This month, we turn to the craft of pacing as a dance of attraction. Writing seduction is about more than chemistry; it’s about timing. Every glance, every pause, every withheld word builds a current between characters. To pace well is to seduce: to know when to move closer, and when to pull away.
What happens when a scene becomes a conversation of gestures? When a single word changes the temperature of a page? Through pacing, we shape connections. We'll focus on that back-and-forth that keeps readers leaning in.
From flirtation to negotiation, from rivalry to friendship, seduction drives the story. It is a scene and summary, tension and release, restraint and revelation. You can also call it a choreography of desire between people, and between writer and reader.
What to expect:
First, we read. Bring whatever book you are into and settle into one hour of quiet, collective presence.
Then, we write. Through guided prompts, you’ll explore how pacing creates seduction.
The workshop is held in English, but you are welcome to write in whatever language feels like home. There is no pressure to share your work. This is a space for exploration, reflection, and creation.
The idea is to generate words through embodied experience writing in a playful, intuitive state.
Whether you write fiction, memoir, poetry, or journal for yourself, all forms and levels are welcome.
